Helpful RV Tips and Tricks
We want to make life in your RV as easy as possible. Let’s face it, RV life is not always easy. There is always going to be some kind of little hiccup along the way. I highly recommend you learn to roll with the punches and laugh at yourself. You will be a lot happier! The following are five things we believe will make your RV life so much easier and less stressful.
1st Tip
Parking and unhitching is one of the most stressful aspects of RV life. It often takes two people communicating with one another to place the RV where it needs to be. My wife and I sure have had our share of parking mishaps. To solve our parking dilemma, we purchased two-way radios and now we park like pros because we can actually hear one another.
2nd Tip
I am here to tell you, you are going to need an RV generator! If you like to boondock or ever travel to an area you cannot hook up to, you will love having a portable generator. Even if you are trying to rough it as much as possible, having access to some power is important.
3rd Tip
I will never forget the first time I used our RV toilet and created a huge clog because I didn’t use the right toilet paper. Do yourself a favor and make sure you always use RV-friendly toilet paper or you will likely find yourself dealing with a huge mess! Calling a plumber is not fun while you are supposed to be enjoying your RV travels.
4th Tip
Unless you are fortunate enough to own a self-leveling RV, you are going to need to purchase leveling blocks. Not only will these keep you from sliding across your RV floor, but they will also prevent your RV stove and fridge from experiencing mechanical failure due to incorrect stability.
5th Tip
As we have clearly stated, RV life, like regular life, is sometimes purely unpredictable. Having emergency supplies on hand, such as an RV fire extinguisher is a must. We recommend keeping one in the kitchen, one in the bathroom, and one near the bedroom. It might seem like overkill, but protection is a must. Seeing your prized RV go up in flames is not something you want to experience!
