Finally, you need to tighten the bolts and replace the rack if you removed it. Make sure to seal the bolt holes either with a rubber washer or with sealant to maintain the waterproofing of the seat.

The other option is winch straps. These are usually found on soft seats. Winch straps are really easy to use as you just loop them round the rack and tighten them up.

You need to make sure that the straps are fully tightened and that they are done on all sides of the seat to prevent tipping.

Hard or soft?

This is really a matter of personal preference. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

Hard seats provide a firmer backrest and often prevent your passenger from tipping backwards better than soft seats.
