Cummins 6.7L Engine Product Overview
One thing that we will say about this product is that it can offer an impressive 1000lb-ft of torque, and the high output rating is exclusively offered in the RAM 3500 option when it comes to choosing between the available products.
It is also equipped with the Aisin transmission option. There is a new high-output engine that has an impressive 400hp and 1000lb-ft of the best torque.
When we look at the RAM 2500 and 3500, we can see that they are equipped with 68RFE Auto, and the HP and torque have increased to 370hp and 850lb-ft, which allows them to be able to provide the right level of power for these models.
As well as all of this, and the fact that they have moved on to a higher capability high-pressure pump, several other new features have been used for the newer 2019 model engines in order to maintain the proven reliability and durability that Cummins products have to offer. We will explain some of these features below.
There is a compacted graphite iron material that has been used for the block that leads to an increased cylinder pressure capability while being able to reduce the overall weight of the product by almost 60lbs.
Another great feature is the new cast-iron cylinder head that contains high-temperature capable exhaust valves, which are actuated by brand new hydraulic lash adjusters in the block, and they eliminate the need for valve train adjustment service intervals.
Interestingly, the heart of the engine is now a higher-strength alloy crankshaft that has a 10-bolt crack flange, which is able to drive the newly-designed forged connecting rods and new bearings. If you were wondering, these work to transfer power from the low-friction ring-wrapped pistons.
In addition to all of this, the newer and larger Cummins Holset variable-geometry turbocharger has been optimized with heavy-duty bearings, and new compressor-side housing, which are key ingredients to the new ratings. They are able to pump 33 pounds per square inch of fresh air into the engine.
Finally, the new fuel-delivery system actually now includes a new 29,000 psi fuel pump and fuel rail with Cummins Filtration NanoNet technology. The many improvements with this new product can be reflected in the ratings below.

This 6.7L engine has two different versions, the 2500 and 3500 RAM options, and they are actually able to produce between 370 and 400 horsepower, and 850 to 1000 lb/ft of torque.
While this might not sound like much of a difference, what you will require will depend on the truck in specific, and you can get some impressive results with these two options.
Another thing that you might be interested in is the amount of maintenance that this product requires from you. The fuel filter will need to be replaced after 15,000 miles, the same as with the previous versions, and the same can be applied for the oil change interval, which is duty cycle based.
These are two important parts of maintenance that you will need to keep an eye on and make sure that you are keeping on top of. The engine actually uses an oil change monitoring system, and this means that a message will be displayed to alert the driver that they need to change the oil.
