Racing Pro Motocross? Know the Rules

The 2007 AMA Pro ATV motocross racing rulebook is now available.

The new series features 450cc machines. A 250cc class will be added in 2008.

"With the continued sales growth and availability of sport ATVs in the United States and the expanding popularity of racing, the time is right to launch this championship," says AMA Chief Executive Office Patti DiPietro. "This discipline will receive the same level of support as our other pro racing series and will help elevate the awareness and professionalism of ATV competition."

A television package is under development, as well as an AMA ATV Pro Racing website.

Amateur ATV racing is still governed by the ATVA.
