Tim Farr Dominates Season's First Extreme Dirt Track

Tim Farr (#4), the 2006 Extreme Dirt Track ATVA National Pro champion, won the 2006 series opener at the Bullet Speedway in Brashear, Texas, on May 7.

Track owner Mark Krotkey and promoter Terry Reynolds faced constant challenges with the wet weather. But they managed the track perfectly to get in as many races as possible and keep the racing safe.

In the first qualifier Harold Goodman (#708) pulled the lead and held off hard-charging Keith Little (#12) for the win.

In the second qualifier, Shane Hitt (#5) pulled the holeshot but Tyler Smith (#333) worked his way up to pass Hitt and take the win.

In the third qualifier, Farr launched into first place early and never looked back, winning with a huge lead. Farr earned first pick for starting position in the 20-lap main event with the fastest qualifier.

With 20 of the fastest Extreme Dirt Track racers in the world lined up to race, everyone knew this was going to be an exciting way to kick off the season.

At the start, Goodman got the holeshot. As the racers charged down the straight, it was Goodman, Farr, Daryl Rath (#67), Hitt and Little.

Goodman and Farr quickly put some distance between them and the hungry challengers. Several times Farr would move alongside Goodman, but just couldn't make it stick for the pass.

With spectators cheering, this went on for five or six laps.

Then, at one point it looked like Farr was going high through turn two, but at the last minute coming out of turn two Farr went low and made the pass on Goodman.

Farr opened up a huge lead, never to be challenged.

Goodman held on to second place. Kittle worked his way up to third, Hitt finished fourth and Rath fifth.
